Yamiko Hikaru

Yamiko Hikaru is one of the Zodiac Senshi, which are featured in Court Intrigue. She was the first to be awakened by Ava Katsugari. Currently, Hikaru is the only zodiac to have her powers awakened by both the Argenian royal and Divya. Her past actions as Sailor Scorpio has made her infamous, along with her somewhat questionable mental state in both that and her civilian form.

Much like the Scorpion, Hikaru would rather kill herself than be killed. She is often quick to promote her agenda to see to it that things go forward. Others may find her overbearing, sunburn and even self-destructive, but that's the beauty of this woman. Sometimes she’ll let others catch a small glimpse of her true personally, while keeping her true self hidden. This is akin to the porcupine’s dilemma. Meaning she is afraid to get close to other people because of an inner fear of being hurt. It’s best not to bet against this woman, either, since she is surprisingly resourceful. On bad days she can be extremely antisocial, bitter and downright catty. Thanks to her relationship with her father, Hikaru has a problem with authority figures. She also has a bad habit of holding grudges. Instead of quickly forgiving the transgression she allows it to linger, often seeking revenge because of it. If she’s unhappy with something or a person she won’t hesitate to voice her option no matter how it makes her look. When in a foul mood her words tend to be blunt laced with very dark humor.

One of her greatest weakness is the way she deals with stress. Deepening on the situation she’ll either crumble or lash out in a verbal manner. This has often caused her to get involved in a few small fights here and there. Stress from her first henshin has had a lasting negative affects on her sanity… the end result was a mild bout paranoid schizophrenia, complete with a few visual and auditory hallucinations. While she's over come most of the systems… the young woman is still a bit of a wild card.

Moving past that often heartless, cold and somewhat mentally unstable exterior, she can be somewhat caring, loving even. Yeah, she's not a complete psychopath, yet… At times she’ll allow that softer side to show when talking with close friends or family. Oddly enough she seems to adore kids, and once had a dream about adopting. She cares deeply for the few people who can stand her bad moods. Her current lover is the woman who gave her another place to stay. To this day Hikaru remains extremely overprotect over the other woman. This is also probably due to her fear of being alone. She's also very loyal to the few friends she has manged to keep.

Sailor Scorpio's powers are poison and acid based. The staff she carries, called the Scorpio tail, is a tall pole arm with a stinger shaped blade. While in senshi form Hikaru is more prone to violent outbursts, even more so when cornered. The first sentence from a few paragraphs back “Much like the Scorpion, Hikaru would rather kill herself than be killed” takes on a more serious and literal meaning. She’ll do anything to make sure she survives, even if it means going a little overboard in the process. She was able to again a little more control during the last battle. If her powers return it’s unclear if the year’s worth of calming techniques will work… or if something else will happen to cause her sanity to slip away.

History

On the early hours of October 29th, Kitsune suddenly sprinted from Hie-jinja after receiving visions of darkness entering the world. She rushed to her son’s house to so she could warn the expectant mother. It would seem the stress the babbling woman caused prompted Aichika to go into labor, about two weeks early. Akio – not pleased with his Oksan at this point, had no choose but to rush his wife to Kumiai Hospital. Later that evening the woman gave birth to a girl, and was named Yamiko Hikaru. Her name is from the two opposing elements, light (Hikaru) and darkness (Yamiko – well Ko means child…) . Shortly after the birth her Okasan decided to become a full time mother. Her early childhood was fairly normal. She was a bright and energetic child, with a slight attention deficit disorder. From the age of six up to her thirteenth year she was hold schooled by Aichika. Among the normal subjects, the woman often taught her daughter culture.

Each time when the snows died away they would travel into the neighboring cities to celebrate various important Shinto festivals. Hikaru enjoyed the sights of the large cities and dressing up in kawaii silk kimono. The best family trip by far was to Osaka. She would always look fondly toward those memories. (Which might have inspired her later move) In the spring she enjoyed playing outside in her mother’s flower garden. The young girl never cared much about getting her hands dirty or clothing for that matter. During the warmer summer months her father took his family out of the city, to the beach. Hikaru didn’t exactly take much of a shine to the water, but she always enjoyed visiting the small shops.

At a young age, she could often be found playing in the gardens with her mother earning her the nick name “Chibi ChoCho”. )She also enjoyed collecting butterfly themed items. Nonetheless, she would later grow out of that hobby shortly after high school. Some of her favorite books growing up were mainly fantasy. As she grew older she would come to enjoy traditional horror novels based around historic events, and stories the challenged the reader on a deeper level. Music wise she always leaned toward Jpop idols that mixed their music with Western Genre’s. Because she adored fantasy books she took a shine to anime and other animation with that same theme. Her taste in shows would mature with her age. She began to have an odd obsession with police dramas.

Her clothing style was greatly affected by her mother. As a small child she enjoyed wearing butterflies in her hair, and cute lacy tops. Again, as she grew older her style would eventually mature as well. Over time she developed a fondness for darker red hues, liking the way they matched her eyes. Somewhere along the lines she picked up a liking for Qipao dresses and other blouses with a Chinese influence. This might have come from spending time with her grandfather Jian and looking through older pictures. Another thing that changed as Hikaru grew older was her hair style. Up until the age of six the small girl would wear her hair in pigtails, often wearing ribbons or butterfly clips. After that she lowered the twin pony tails, and slowly grew out of wearing ribbons in her hair. She allowed her tresses to grow longer, often keeping her tresses brushed back into a low braid. Every now and then she will opt for a more trendy hair style – nothing involving pig tails

Every now and then her mother Aichika would take notice strange behavior in her daughter. At the age of three Hikaru began to have oddly vivid nightmares about things, people, and places she’d never seen. Sometimes these dreams were pleasant in nature; other times they seemed dark and foreboding. At first her Okasan thought this was nothing more than childish fantasy, until the strange drawings began. The majority of the images, the young child drew, centered on places the small child had never visited, lush palaces, and images of the Tokyo skyline alive with flames. Figures that seemed to be senshi would appear frequently in the young child’s drawing. Achika still thought her daughter was making this up. Her father, Akio, on the other hand used it as an excuse to scare his daughter. “You had another one of those dreams. Hikaru-chan… haha you know what this means, right? You’re one of the girls who are unable to become a princess. And girls who cannot become princesses turn into witches” – the man told the then four year old girl. These darker images continued to a point, and then suddenly stopped for some odd reason. Even though the images lightened, the small child would often recall having a few visions of things to come. But because of the way her father reacted, girl would learn to keep these things to herself out of fear.

Akio wanted the child to put that energy to better use. When his daughter become old enough he enrolled her in youth classes at his dojo. During her middle school days this training turned into something more serious. The young girl often trained in the art of swordsmanship, a staff, and Jet Kun Do. As she grew older the classes grew harsher. A few of those sessions would trigger her to have disturbing visions of the capital city in ruin. The first time it happened the news startled her father… much to her delight. Nonetheless, the reason why his father became so troubled was because of the rant his Okasan, Kitsune, gave the day his daughter was born. No matter, he kept the information from his mother out of worry.

Even though the young girl adored spending the time with her mother, she eventually entered a normal middle school, Nakayama. It was a public school about five blocks from Hikaru’s home. Her school uniform consisted of a standard sailor fuku with a dark navy collar with a dark blue plaid skirt – something she grew to loath with an undying passion. The young teen often came off as extremely antisocial, and tended to stick to herself. When she did open up she often came off as a bit brash, and obnoxious. In one instance she even beat up another boy who was poking fun at her last name. Despite the above she did have a few good acquaintances in middle school, no one she truly called a friend. Thanks in part to her Okasan Hikaru took a shine toward her science class. Even though she was a pretty decent student the classes she hated most were Literature and History.

As she grew older, Hikaru often preferred to spend time in the park gardens, chatting with the Miko at the local Shinto Shrine, Hie-jinja, or just spending time with little bother Kisho. One of her closest friends , Shinohara Keiko, was a Miko in training. A young woman about five years her senior and a bit like an older sister. The young girl learned a few basic mediation techniques. There she would try to further hone her sixth sense ability via simple mediation and prayer. She also spent time with her grandmother Kitsune. Well… up until the older woman began to suffer from a mild schizophrenia. That combined with her precognition gift, made her appear to be oddly paranoid. Sadly she spent her last days in a nursing home outside of the city. Some of the odder memories Hikaru had of the woman was her complaining about the squirrels plotting to over throw the Queen. The young girl was nonetheless very troubled by her grandmother’s death. Oddly enough she saw strange parallels between the woman and herself. Sadly, Hikaru could never bring herself to admit this to Aichika.

As a teenager Hikaru quickly grew discontent with life in the small town. When she wasn’t studying for exams she found her free time was mostly consumed by either Jet Kune Do classes, or helping her Okasan by working as a part time waitress at Doya. Like her great-grandfather before her, the young woman yearned for something a little more interesting. Even though she adored the small restaurant, she had no real aspirations to own it one day. More and more of her free time would be devoted to studying. The academic subjects of choose were mathematics and botany. At one point she even set a few high goals of a job in a scientific field. The young woman saw this as means to escape the small town.

Opportunity presented its self in the form of a high school transfer to Empyrean with the aid of an academic scholarship, thanks in part to a school counselor. Hikaru’s choose of schools steamed from a series of odd dreams. These seemed to be vivid repeats of past childhood nightmares that centered around Crystal Tokyo. No matter, she kept that little bit of information to herself because she worried about her parents reactions. Those two other more normal reasons were more than enough to leave the “crappy little town”. The main reason centered on the more diverse curriculum. Hikaru’s parents were both shocked and dismayed with their daughter’s choice. While her young brother Kisho was equally upset with the news, he seemed to understand his sister’s reasons better than the others. Her father was quick to voice his objections, and a calm discussion quickly turned into a heated argument. Aichika ended up taking her daughter’s side, although deep down the older woman was a bit hurt by her daughter’s choice.

Hikaru moved shortly after the snow began to thaw. She would spend the first two months or so before school started trying to get find her way around. The first weeks in Crystal Tokyo were pretty hectic for the young woman. Moving from a smaller town to a large city took some getting used to. Nonetheless, she would slowly come to enjoy the various sights and events the city had to offer. During the weekends she delighted in the Crystal Tokyo Night life and often spent time bar hopping. It took her a while to find her away around at first, and she often had a bit of trouble because of her Aido dialect. Still, Hikaru made some effort to change, and she eventually took and odd shine to Tokyo slang. She would eventually find a decent sized apartment not far from Empyrean. The young woman did not have enough money for a vehicle, so she had to rely on public transpiration. At first she kept decent contact with Aichika, but as time when on the phone calls stopped and she eventually stopped writing her mother all together.

A year or so after moving to Crystal Tokyo she legally dropped her last name. Her name, which she always thought to be too damn long, was split in half. Yamiko became her surname leaving her with the name Hikaru. It would take a while for her to get accustomed to the large city. All funds were squirreled away and either when toward clothing or the rent. In order to help pay for rent Hikaru took on a part time job at an upscale French restaurant. For a bit of extra income every now and then she would often take up small tutoring jobs. Again she found herself facing the same problems as in middle school, and found it too easy to make enemies.

At Empyrean she often butted heads with a of the snobby girl clichés, Nanami 'the cow' and her cult of pigs, more so than others. Even though Hikaru tended to stick to herself, she made a few acquaintances, one of the closer classmates being Balgangadhar Amishi. While they did not spend much time outside of class, they would often call each other every now and then. Hikaru also became infamous for her temper and her little squabbles with the cow. Nonetheless, their fights never became any more serious than shouting matches. Academic wise she opted for classes that would help her in college, opting for AP classes – not worried about the extra work that came with it. For her extra circular class she took up psychology and began to take a small liking toward it. She even signed up for the girl’s Kyudo; (Japanese Archery) team. Aside from that one sports team, she didn’t participate in many school functions. In truth she avoided all other school functions like the plague, including the senior dance. While the dreams and visions began to pick up they could be easily ignored, or blamed on late night snacks… Until that battle on the roof…

Curse of the Moon

Hikaru would later call those twenty nine or so days as an extremely bitter sweet time in her life. Well, mostly bitter because no matter how hard she tried trouble would always follow her. Okay, this was basically her fault but there was no way to admit it. Everything seemed to play out akin to one of her overly vivid nightmares…

Her powers would be awakened on what seemed to be a normal school day. She claimed to hear a strange voice while chasing after a strange guy. While she rushed up the stairs she suddenly called out “Zodiac Scorpio Power, make up… ”. Her school uniform changed into a dual skirted sailor fuku – much to her surprised. Shortly after this henshin took place she found herself in a fight with some creepy guy she dubbed Mangy Mutt – who stole some energy from her classmates! During this fight they received a strange dual vision of a dying people, scene from Hikaru’s own past, and a scene which showed the silhouettes of twelve other female’s… Oddly enough she felt some sadness toward the fate of those people. Sadly, the newly awakened zodiac (Hahaha the first! ) was unable to get back her classmates energy, and left class to think over what happened.

Because of the distrust in the Solar system's senshu, passed down from her Otosan, Scorpio chooses to go it alone. She takes up a bit of training at Crystal Tower. There she has another run in with an Argenian, Jo Kim. The woman referred to her as a goddess. No matter, Hikaru choose to work alone rather than accepting the woman’s assistance. A small warning was giving before the brash young woman to further damage the tall tower’s structure, causing it to collapse. Scorpio was able to escape the scene without being caught by any of the Earth's guardians.

It was not long until this new gift began to go to her head… The young woman ended stole scorpion venom from the local zoo to tip her staff with. The next day, she proceeded to “test out” her powers on a large group on unsuspecting mall goers. Needless to say this didn’t go well – at all. The attack left fifty or so people injured and left massive holes in the concert. The Zodiac would have her first encounter with a Sol senshi, Sailor Moon. Instead of asking any real questions the mutant rabbit attacked without warning, thus causing Scorpio to distrust all Sol guardians . The situation was changed when Jo Kim somehow manipulated the mall goers to attack Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn. Scorpio was able to heal her wounds with a first aid kit found in one of the ambulances, and left the scene quickly after.

Hikaru was still shaken by the entire event and did her best to stay out of trouble. Up until that point, Hikaru had little to no interaction with the other Zodiacs, until one calm afternoon. The young woman was after her afternoon job at La Papesse. She was carrying an order to a table when suddenly everyone’s cell phone seemed to go off at once. A few of the restaurant patrons began to abruptly leave, thanks in part to the news. Hikaru also left the restaurant, but instead of going toward the trouble she headed for the alleyways to avoid it. There she managed to run into two other Zodiac senshi, Taurus and Pieces. She told tried to give them what little information she had concerning their powers – well the stuff she told by Kim-san. She even tried to step up a meeting between the spiky haired female and dark skinned woman. While the two other Zodiacs had plans on going to the palace, Hikaru would later blow off those plans.

Because she found so much peace in visiting the Hie-jinja shrine, she tried visiting a shrine in Crystal Tokyo, Hikawa Shrine. She visited the calm shrine in a simple cotton kimono. The entire afternoon was spent in the inner sanctum. During which she was reminded of better times spend with Shinohara Keiko, and some of the summer Shinto Festivals. Hikaru bought a good luck charm before leaving. While the rest of the evening turned to be unevenly It would not be long until trouble found her.

After getting her first tattoo (the image of a tribal scorpion on the center of her back) the young woman ran into yet another Argenian. The man seemed to be able to sense her shard, and a fight was started. Even though Scorpio fought only to protect herself, she felt herself losing control… and ended the fight abruptly. She quickly took to the alleyways and returned to her apartment to treat the burn wounds on her upper legs. From that point ion she became extremely paranoid. The added stress began to take a toll on her social life. She became even more withdrawn, and eventually dropped out of Kyudo;. The dreams increased as well and she began to have nightmares of running through the Crystal Palace halls.

Despite the events at the mall and the random street fight, she had managed to stay under the raider of the press. Trying to keep up a normal life she tried to continue with her normal daily routine such as work and school. But things would take an odd turn during a normal evening at her job. One of the restaurant patrons’ claimed to have recognized her from that incident on the street, claiming they knew her to be Sailor Scorpio. Hikaru tried verbally threatening the person, which attracted the attention of Kaiou Michiru. A few more random threats were given before Hikaru suddenly exited, knocking over the aqua haired female in the process. Because of this little event she was fired the next day.

During a normal trip to the mall she ended up running into Jo Kim. The woman agreed to be lead to another place to talk out her problems. But, while en route they were suddenly teleported to the moon… Yeah… the 'fricken’ moon! It seemed they interrupted some meeting. Hikaru gave some of her input, thanks in part to the fact that she pretty much loathed the senshi because of her grudge against a certain someone. Way to go Sailor Moon! And actually helped up come with the plan to break up into two groups.

Hikaru spent the following evening on the moon wondering the hallways. She avoided any of the others, and eventually found a quiet room to think over that past meeting. Even though the young woman wanted to help the Argenians, entering the palace still seemed like a death wish to her. Make no mistake about it; she had no real delusions of grandeur. In her mind she saw herself either being killed by one of the sol or being arrested for entering the palace.

The following day, the young woman returned to Earth with the Argenians, and entered the Palace with Princess Ava’s group. While the other members went off to do their own thing, Hikaru searched for the heirloom alone. Again, trouble found her in the form of Sailor Neptune. A fight ensued causing both women to become severely injured. At the last minute, Scorpio returned to tried to help the woman… finding herself in yet another fight… this time with Neptune’s lover, Uranus. A long chase followed… Scorpio manged to escape by causing the hallway to collapse, preventing the blonde from following. By some miracle the injured Zodiac escaped to the safety of the alley way. The two major injuries suffered was on on her back, from Uranus' attack, and the sprained ankle she got from her mad dash from the palace. She was able to get in contact with a classmate, Amishi, who gave her ride to the Emergency room… Nonetheless, this did not mark the end of her problems…

Hikaru had two odd run in with a short haired blonde. The first meeting was at Our Lady of Sorrows the following Monday. She ended up seeking temporary sanctuary out of fear directly after she left the Emergency room. Tenou entered searching for Sailor Scorpio. Two others, Dev, and other young woman lied for Hikaru. The second was by far the worst .Hikaru tried to return to class the following day, but found it hard to focus. She ended up ditching her seventh period class and headed to the small shops just a few blocks away from campus. Because a certain someone’s attack’s left the ends of her tresses frayed she ended up cutting it to about shoulder length. She even had subtle carmine hued highlights added. Feeling a bit hungry, Hikaru headed to a local dinner. Oddly enough, she ended up catching the attention of Tenou. When she left the café, the blonde followed her around to a few shops. A funnier encounter would come from the lingerie shop. Hikaru “accidentally” flung a pair of panties at Haruka… the blonde’s reaction drew a few giggles from her, but nothing more.

After this little shopping trip ended Tenou confronted Hikaru with photos taken from her fight with Kanbei. Because a few of the pictures contained panty shots she ended up giving the tall blonde the name 'Panty Shot Blonde'. While Hikaru tried to deny being Scorpio, Haruka tried to persuade the other into coming in for questioning. A bit less respective to the idea, Hikaru suddenly tried to make a break for it, but not before shouting a few bits of randomness to make her seem even more unstable. The tall blonde chased her, and grabbed her by the arm. Luck was on Hikaru’s side and she was able to break free. She then darted into the street it’s self just as a large flat bed truck, carrying chemicals passed. The truck ended up jack knifing. A sharp collusion from behind caused the chemical canisters to rupture, causing a large explosion. The resulting chaos helped Hikaru escape!

Because of this Hikaru worried about getting her friend Amishi involved in her troubles she ended up going to the palace to turn herself in. She headed to the public area of the palace armed with a confession letter. Ironically this was the same day of what was to be called “the Zodiac break out”. Sounds of an alarm quickly caught her attention. She would latter learn that a few other innocent zodiacs, along with Leo were being held there. So instead of turning herself in, Hikaru ended up “helping” the others. Oddly enough she ended up breaking away from the others. The troubled Zodiac ended up attacking several guards, causing them to fall to their deaths, in order to escape the grounds. Like before Scorpio rushed to the safety of a nearby alley way.

With the events of the past few days still weighing heavily on her mind, Hikaru ended up spending most of her free time at a local park. The young woman oddly feared she would eventually end up like her grandmother, Kitsune… It was during a late night stroll that her deep thoughts were interrupted by screams. She ran into a strange male who hinted at being one of the few Argenians who entered the palace with her on bloody Sunday. Well… like most people, Hiakru thought Loki was a man. Truly unnerved by this figure she turned the other way. She would later hear the sounds of other screams, but because of her past few crimes, she decided not to get involved.

She would later return to that park, during the day to think. Her sorrow had been sensed. She ended up being teleported to the moon, by Princess Ava, for a small chat. The two talked about their current problems. Oddly enough the creepy guy she meet at the park appeared, and she had the luck of overhearing a certain someone’s dirty little secret. The three ended up having a small very surreal chat. To help Hikaru stay calm, Ava sent the young boy priest back to Earth with her. This seemed to work as the troubled Scorpio was able to remain calm for the remainder of the day. Instead of returning her apartment, she took the small boy to her Amishi’s apartment. Because she worried about the other young woman’s reaction she did not tell her the entire truth behind the small boy’s origin’s.

It was during a normal run to corner convenience that she ended up running into Regno, Virgo, Capricorn, and Aries. She ended up joining their little conversation and leading the group to a local park. There Madam Monarch gave them some information in order to get the few others to join her cause. While Hikaru agreed, for the most part, she tried to warn the others — pulling from past experiences with the sol… Sadly, she turned down the offer to travel to the moon palace, thanks in part to an arranged meeting.

Sometime at midnight the next day Hikaru meet with an older senshi, bringing Mirek-chan along. (This meeting was set up via an odd letter dropped in Pluto’s box) At first Hikaru was unsure about how the other woman would react. So she set up a little prank to make sure Pluto carried. She began to caught, and before long spit up a dark crimson hued liquid on the older sol’s fuku bodice. Instead of attacking the seeming ill girl, the green haired sol did the noble thing and helped her up. Surprised by the show of kindness, and admitted that what she spit up was nothing more than blueberry juice with red food coloring. This would be her only positive meeting with a sol senshi. The same way the run in with Sailor Moon had a lasting negative effect, the meeting with the senshi of time would have a lasting positive one. She was able to get some useful advice from the older woman. Only time would tell if she would be able to put it to good use.

For a brief amount of time her life returned to normal. Hikaru took the small boy to the park, and even had a fun movie night with her close friend Amishi. They mused about a few old dreams… and for the time being she was happy. It was during one such happy-go-lucky trip to the gardens that they ran into Panty Shot Blond. Hikaru accused the woman of flowing her, although Ten'ou denied it. Attention soon shifted to the small boy. Hikaru managed to tell a decent lie. Not convinced of this, she ended up calling Amishi to confirm what was said. With that cleared up Tenou left them alone, and Hikaru took Mirek to see the rose gardens. The rest of the outing was pretty much uneventful. Aimishi would later give Hikaru an ear full about that phone call with the sandy haired blonde.

During another walk through the park, she and Mirek came across an odd group, Princess Ava, the Fool, Leo, Taurus, and Capricorn. The small boy was able to heal Ava’s and Leo’s wounds, but passed out afterward from exhaustion. Hikaru would later lead the group back to the apartment – well with the two groups after them they didn’t really have that many options open. There she would learn about the insurrection on the moon… She then reluctantly agreed to follow Ava to the palace the next day… but not before making herself seem all the more unstable! Yay? One of Hikariu’s main reasons because she was growing tired of running. Plus the idea of doing something close to noble seemed like a good idea. She warned the others not to bother her unless the apartment was burning down, but told them they were welcome to the instant food in the kitchen.

The following night's sleep would bring with more unsettling nightmares that once again focused on the Crystalline Bastille halls. Some of those dreams were even mixed with past visits from the palace. Because her of current worry she couldn’t figure out if these were nightmares caused by stress, or images of things to come. Hikaru woke early the next morning to have a quiet chat with Princess Ava. Together they discuss possible back up plans, but it wouldn't be enough to do away with her fears. A basic back up plan was worked out between the two of them.

In the end Scorpio became extremely bitter about the entire thing. It was almost as if the zodiacs were someone’s idea of a cosmic joke! An idea ripped out of the pages of someone’s fan fiction and nothing more. Once the larger battles and such died down and that unsettling peace returned, Hikaru distanced herself from anyone associated with the name senshi. Well, the exception being Sailor Pluto because the older woman was one of the few sol senshi who gave her any real advice. In truth she felt a bit betrayed by Ava… But in the end it didn’t matter. She lost her powers like the rest of twelve. Nonetheless, the events from the last battle would continue to haunt her because her involvement was made public. The scares of some of the past fights remain, both psychological and physical.

Hikaru tried to pick up with what little life she had before. She permanently moved into Amishi’s apparent. This young woman helped her turning a portion of the hellish twenty nine days, and the aftermath. In truth she was akin to her better half. The calm part of her that she once thought had been lost. Hikaru would pour all extra effort would be poured into returning Empyrean. This was pretty much easier said than done. It took nothing short of a miracle to get the dean to allow her to return to class. After she was treated a bit like a social pariah. She began to notice that her fellow classmates were avoiding her in the hallways. Even if she no longer had her powers, those around her still distrusted her.

Sadly Hikaru would later spend the short summer three week vacation in the psychiatric ward of Kawasaki Municipal Hospital. The young woman admitted herself voluntarily after a serious bout of depression. It was not exactly smooth sailing after. She loathed most of the nurses, and the other patients. The first week was the most troubling, nonetheless, the time spent there did do her some good. She was able to conclude that her past depression was due in part to family issues. After, she tried to incorporate little things to help her remain calm. Nonetheless she began to find some comfort in religion, in the form of Buddhism. Even though she began to gain more control over her temper every now and then that sad feeling would return. Because of this Hikaru realized that a trip home would probably help her with that problem, even though she had her doubts.

Some time, during the fall, Hikaru made a return visit to Takayama. This was an attempt to reconcile with her family and to clear up a few misconceptions about what occurred. While Aichika welcomed her daughter with opened arms, Akio was a little less receptive. The twins were notable shy around their older sister. Kisho, on the other hand seemed content to pester Hikaru with various questions. Hikaru tried to clear up the rumors surrounding her other alias, and the damaging news report that lobed her as Miss Twitchy. The news was met with mixed reactions from her family. Akio had a few words of praise for his daughter for going up against the Solar system senshi. Her Okasan was worried about the after effects, and tried to persuade her daughter into moving back home. Kisho seconded his mother’s option, hopping his sister wouldn’t return to that cold world. Fuyu and Kaede were divided. While the younger took her sister’s side, the older twin thought her sister should have been given jail time. This week long visit home gave Hikaru the chance to finally patch things up with her father. Though she declined the offer to move back to Takayama she promised then she would keep in touch.

With Amishi’s assistance, and a lot of effort, Hikaru was able to finish high school. They currently live in an apparent just outside of Crystal Tokyo. (About a fifteen minute ride by train) She is currently studying pre-medicine at Crystal Tokyo University. She currently majors in chemistry, with botany for her minor. Her main goal now centers on becoming a Psychiatrist. What little free time is either spent at the gym, yoga class, or just relaxing with Amishi. Hikaru still tries to keep in contact with Sailor Pluto. She has no real plans of trying to meet up with any of the others from her past. The nightmares have tapered off, but every now and then a few of them return. She current has a part time job working in a small café on campus.

The first week was the most troubling, nonetheless, the time spent there did do her some good. She was able to conclude that her past depression was due in part to family issues. After, she tried to incorporate little things to help her remain calm. Nonetheless she began to find some comfort in religion, in the form of Buddhism. Even though she began to gain more control over her temper, every so often that sad feeling would return.

Akio had a few words of praise for his daughter for going up against the Sol.

They moved into an apparent just outside of Crystal Tokyo. (About a fifteen minute ride by train) Hikaru then began studying pre-medicine at Crystal Tokyo University. There she majored in chemistry, with botany for her minor. Her main goal now centered on becoming a Psychiatrist. What little free time is either spent at the gym, yoga class, or just relaxing with Amishi. Hikaru still tried to keep in contact with Sailor Pluto. At that time she has no real plans of trying to meet up with any of the others from her past. The nightmares had begun to taper off, but every now and then a few of them returned.

Hikaru had settled into a normal routine… unless she didn't have anywhere to be, her day would always start off with a cup of coffee at the local Crystal Bucks. Every now and then, when she was sure the area was free of those small minded protesters… Hikaru would take the risk and visit Kylar's bakery. And it was one of those "risk taking days!" Besides… who in their right mind could resist a freshly backed pastry?! A little luck was on the insane Zodiac's side that day. There were a few reminders of her past… well mainly another Zodiac. Yet, there were no ill words spoken between them. A little tension did come when the head of the palace guards entered… good thing he had a small child with him. The tension faded once the male left. Talk of a possible hanami make Hikaru wondered if she was doing the right thing by avoiding the Argenians.

As things progressed, Hikaru would run into more people from her past. A sudden shower promoted her to take shelter in the park. Another woman… probably a foreigner, and a familiar face, Jo. Was this a sign of some sort? Hikaru didn't think so at the time… so after a interesting conversation… she head on her way shortly after the rains let up.

Her next random run in would be with another former Zodiac, Chinika. Hikaru had heard wonderful things about a "Steampunk" themed coffee house and deiced to take a look. She managed to get into a small conversation with the other zodiac. Chinika encouraged her to attend the up coming Hanami…Hikaru agreed and decided to try to get back in contact with the Argenians… more importantly the Princess Queen.

But those plans to rekindle things would have to wait until after the weekend. Why? Because Hikaru had promised to take her younger brother to the happiest place on Earth, Tokyo Disneyland! They spent the later part of the morning enjoying each other's company, hopping from ride to ride… and teasing/annoying each other. They even ran into Queen Ava! And yeas, Hikaru promised to visit sometime soon. The two siblings went back to ride hopping, but soon Hikaru began to notice a few strange things. The lines became longer, and those around were starting to grow that much more impatient. The park began to seem more like Crystal Mart on Black Friday. (First Friday of the Holiday season… ) Because of the shortages the park had to be closed early! Shame… but Hikaru found a way to make it up to her brother.

In order to get a few ideas for dinner, Hikaru decided to wonder a local park. Sound of a pan flute music caused her, and another woman, Emma, to wonder off the path to find the score. Not one to act cautious, Hikaru soon struck up a conversation with the talented flutest and another. Ah — did I mention that the male had goaty features and the woman looked akin to a bird? Those facts honestly did not seem to bother the young woman. After all, she didn't feel threatened by the two Divya. Hikaru paid close attention as Kama explained a bit about the Divya's intentions. Padma soon figured out that Hikaru was a former zodiac… and offered to restore her powers. Hikaru accepted this… and was very grateful.

After a few months of procrastinating, Hikaru finally was able to pay a visit Ava at the Argenian Embassy. The kawaii Mirek arrived just in time to hear the real reason… the fact that the Divya Padma restored her starseed. The young queen seemed oddly certain that this power would not last, and did seem jelly jealous that the Divya were trying to take over her senshi. Regardless, Hikaru promised to stay in touch, and that she would attend the hanami. And an added bonus… the kawaii Mirek performed a very heart touching flute solo.

Yet… with great power meant seeing things that came straight from the pages of a horror novel… or at least from Sweeny Todd. Baiame continued his task of killing those be believed had out lived a normal person's life span. Even thought Hikaru henshined and confronted the Divya. Yet there was something about him, something that prompted her avoid summing an attack. Even though Chinika was present, she was un able to offer help. No matter… Scorpio was well aware that she now had people she honestly cared about. Besides! Baiame seemed way behind her level. Even though the two did not get into a confrontation , Hikaru vowed to become stronger. Or maybe Baiame was just too bad ass.

Hikaru wanted to do something different… and the ad for the ghost tour sounded interesting enough. It started off like a normal tour. The guide read some of the history concerning each location, went over "possible" strange things that others had reported. On there first stop, Hikaru did not see anything strange… Yet the worst would be seen at the last stop. A headless ghost with a bad grudge, crying lost child… to a lost woman! The images from that day would linger a bit. Staying with Hikaru to remind her of the real price of reckless battle.

Because Hikaru wanted to gain strength with an inner sense of balance (No she did not want moar powah… too DBZ-ish), she deiced to visit a local Jet Jun Do dojo. And there she saw Panty Shot Blonde! And epic starting contest of epic proportions ensued! All joking aside, the two former enemies were actually able to speak to each other without shaking each other with any availed sharp object.

A free performance was held at the park… Drawn by the sound of live strings, Hikaru diced to stop and listen. The young woman recognized one of the performers, none other then Michiru. Hikaru saw this as a chance to apologize for bloody Sunday, so she decided to wait a bit. Chinika was also there, and was able to tell Hikaru about recent troubles. Hikaru wanted to visit… but deiced to stick with her original plan. A kawaii kitty Divya arrived.. Aoide. She offered to give the two women a gift. Once Hikaru and Michiru accepted — they were temporarily to children! Games of hide and go seek were played, along with other silly childhood games. The magic later wore off… perhaps this helped, but Michiru was at least able to somewhat accept Hiakru's apology.

Ah, the hanami! Regardless of how this wonderful cherry blossom event started, the young woman ended up drinking a bit too much! Oddly enough she managed to strike up a conversation with the multi armed Divya. When the blue skinned female noticed her friend Aoide was missing.. Hikaru quickly offered to help. What to kitties like to climb — trees. So where did Hikaru end up, in a fricken tree! Yet getting up there was far easier then getting down. But the young and crazy zodiac was helped down by the noble Eleazar. Setsuna helped her back to her room.. so she could sober up into to see the flowers at night!

Thanks to a hangover from the hanami, Hikaru soon landed herself in the doghouse with her roommate. So, the young woman decided to buy her something to make up for what happened. Or well, what might have been said when she stumbled in half sleepy that day. Surpsiingly she was able to get some wonderful advice from Chinika and Kama!

To make things up with Amish, Hikaru invited her to a a Yozakura (night viewing party). There she was able to gift her the gift — along with a heart felt apology. The other young woman accepted this gesture. And for once, Hikaru was able to spend a calm, relaxing evening with her girlfriend. (I mean if they weren't dating before that… this must be the start of their serious relationship… )

Yet it seems as if peace was never meant to last, at least not in the fair city of Crystal Tokyo. The Divya known as Sharifa performed a very public weapons test at the Neo Rainbow Bridge while Kyra supervised on his awesome chariot of awesomeness. Hikaru had the luck… or misfortune of being in the area. Even though she promised Amish she wouldn't get involved, she ended up going into battle. Some odd lady who could shot water from her hands ended up helping her slightly… in the battle against the creepy Chimra! Wounded from the creatures claws, Scorpio was actually helped to the hospital by Kyra.

Questions about her henshin lingered, so Hikaru decided to visit Ava. The young queen was able to reassure the troubled young woman. Still feeling threatened by eh Divya… she also helped to restore her star seed… to make her powers geuniue . Not knowing that she was to be a bit of a guine pig, Hikaru agreed to return.

It was raining that day, something Ava considered to be a sign. Yes, a good sign sense Scorpio is a water based sign. The ritual started with having her form cleaned of the Divya's power… then, using a shard, Ava was magically able to fuse it into the other woman's star seed — sealing the hole left by the shard of the silver crystal. During this ritual Hikaru saw a vision of her grandmother… and was given a strong warning. Sadly, Hikaru was too tired to see if the ritual worked. Regardless, she promised to fight along side Ava.

(Going off what I assume would have happened during She's So Heavy —)

It was during Hikaru's odd need to buy a hoover bike that she encountered a world of trouble. Two Divya were out stirring up chaos… indulging the one who took down the rainbow bridge. Hikaru summoned her henshin and entered the frey. There were other senshi there as well… Sol… and Zodiac, Queen Ava. Scorpio started her asslt on one of the massive youma that were attacking… but once Ophiuchus had finished it off, Scorpio took aim for Sharifa! It was not an easy battle. Wirth Ophiuchus stepping in just to make sure the battered zodiac did not push herself to the breaking point.

What followed was another trying month — and when it seemed as if things couldn't get any worse… the Divya succeeded in setting off an electromagnetic pulse which knocked out Earth's power grid! What did that mean… no powah! Which meant most of the things that ran on power went down! Sense the majority if the things Hikaru used in her normal, every day life replied on either power or smart system connected to the net… she was pretty much screwed! But it seemed there were even bigger things to worry about…

Luck, or a lack of would find this nutty Zodiac on the front lines of the final battle. (Sense it's Sailor Moon based.. I just assume this all ended with an epic battle… ) Even though she gladly fought along side the other zodiac's, she still had a score to settle!

This was not a normal battler per say… yet one fought to earn respect. And did Scorpio earn Sharifa's respect during this final show down?! Yes — by actually showing some restraint as a fighter.

Getting back to normal life proved harder to her. The lack of internet meant actually having to attend classes on campus. Sense Hikaru had been used to getting around on foot at times… getting used to the slower transport wasn't that much of a bother.

Yet this time, Hiakru had new motivation. Thanks to the ghost tour earlier… she had taken notice of the other affects battles had. The affects such grim sites had on the younger citizens. Having suffered a great deal of mental angst through out various parts of her life, she choice child psychologist as her new life's goal.

Hikaru would not find herself alone during the long… long… did I mention long years of medical study, and an even more trying internship for someone she called "Dr Killjoy". Amishi had remained by her side during the hardships… Five or so years after the great black out, the two were engaged. The spring that followed say their marriage… April — under a flutter of sakura blossoms. (Because everyone knows you can't have shoujo love without random cherry blossoms falling everywhere!? -puts down the redbull- )
